Very timely post and encouraging one!  The past two weeks have been crazy at work, 12+ hour days are required for some emergency financial stuff, which has thrown my home duties, writing, reading into non-existence.   Today is catch-up day I suppose, but I found myself talking to “me” and saying that it was OK if I didn’t get all my writing, cleaning and other tasks done that are self-imposed.  Just stick to the important things (my family) and the other items would wash out just fine.

      Michael,
Wow, 12+ hour days! That will catch up to you pretty quickly. I’m sure your wife and CK are happy you’re prioritizing them over the personal things. :)

I too need to remember that the other things will “wash out just fine,” as you put it.

Great question and comment from Michael Wright.  I definitely tend to do that.  I have to really consciously and intentionally just say – Ok that’s for another day (or time) and just focus on what I need to and can do then.  Keeping the big things the big things is what I’m working on!

Awesome, Ann! Way to keep things in perspective. I’m sure your family is grateful for that this weekend. :) Hope you’re having a good time together.
